  • Use logos of organizations that you or your business belong to in your business cards. They are an easy way to provide instant credibility to your business. For example, if you operate a repair shop you can display the logo of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or the Triple A (AAA). (Check with them first about the terms of use).
  • If you participate in affiliate programs online, you can still use business cards to promote your affiliate links. Use the name of the affiliate company as the company name, use ‘partner’ or ‘associate’ as your title, and the URL of the directory or web page where you have placed your affiliate links as your web address. Just because affiliate programs are online doesn’t mean that you can’t use off-line marketing methods to promote them.
  • If you need to give cards to different kinds of prospects (for example if you are a student looking for work), make business cards with just your name and contact information, and attach custom made self-adhesive labels at the back with information of interest to each specific prospect.
  • Include an information email address (for example: [email protected]) that is set in autoresponder mode, that automatically triggers an email message with full information about your product, service or company. This will increase the effectiveness of your business card since you will give your prospect much more information that you can fit in a card.
  • Take good care of your business cards. Keep them clean and crisp in a cardholder. Don’t give away cards that are bent or damaged.
  • Try to get a cardholder with two pockets. That way, you can use one for your business cards and the other one for the business cards you receive.
  • Keep all the business cards you receive neatly organized in a rolodex. It will save you time and will provide you with a database of contacts with whom to build positive business relationships.

  1. Who wrote the interview questions? Face it – you are being hired as one of the top technical employees at the prospects company. Who is going to ask you questions? Chances are the interviewer didn’t create them and had somebody else to do this for them.If this is a brand-new position, this will be especially true. If perchance you are replacing someone, this is less true but you can watch for opportunities to describe how you will counteract previous deficiencies in a prior experience they might have had.
  2. Don’t intimidate anyone. A person in your position may be very intimidating to someone who fears not being at your knowledge level. Make sure that any questions you ask come off as purely inquisitive and not as condescending.
  3. Collect great examples before the interview. You should have a good example of something that you have done in every technical domain. Have a great story about something you did in the area of changing technical architecture. Collect similar quality examples in the area of data or information architecture, application or solution architecture, as well as work you have done with the business architecture.

They will watch for words such as TOGAF, and Zachman. Be sure that you are able to articulate your knowledge in business terms if you have not used them, or talk about how you applied these in a previous organization (if possible). If you haven’t, talk about that which you have studied or followed.
  10. Carefully prepare your questions before the interview. This is common advice for any person going into interview but your questions will be very scrutinized by the non-technical interviewer. You determine whether or not you want this job in the first place. Interview them! How ready is the organization for architecture? They believe they want somebody in your position. If they are culturally change-averse, chances are they are not ready.Think of the questions that you might ask to test this. Be sure to know what it is you want out of this position. Where do you want to go and what does your future look like? These are standard HR career advancement questions, and while they don’t apply very strictly to EAs because there is not really career path beyond for this position, you should at least have some satisfactory answer prepared.

Financial Advisors – An Affirmation to Increase Income

If you’re in the beginning years of a financial advisor career, I’m guessing that you may want to add more revenues to your financial planning practice, which equates to more money in your bank account.

Here I’m offering an affirmation I created many years ago, when I was a financial advisor with American Express. It goes like this:

“I am now making more money than I could possibly desire through my skill and expertise as a financial advisor.”

Doesn’t sound very earth-shaking, but the results were quite impressive.

Here’s why the affirmation resulted in almost doubled financial planning fees in one year: because I repeated it hundreds of times daily, and I wrote it down at least 25 times each day.

I know that sounds like a lot, but it really isn’t. After a while I got used to it. It became second nature. It was emblazoned upon my mind and is still embedded there to this day, years after I created it.

One of the effects was that I emitted a different kind of energy, an energy that was picked up on by clients and potential clients. It was an air of making more money. And I emitted it more and more the more I repeated the affirmation to myself.

And it became locked into my mind more deeply each time I wrote it, which is why I wrote it at least 25 times each day.

Try it yourself. You can feel free to use this affirmation, or another of your own design and creation.

What matters is that it is powerful for you, and that you repeat it to yourself hundreds of times each day and that you write it at a minimum of 25 times per day. After about 2-3 weeks of focused attention and intention on your affirmation, you’ll experience a shift.

Advice From an Accident Attorney

If you have had an accident, you may be wondering, “What should I do now?” It can be a confusing and frustrating time. You may be injured, and reeling emotionally from the experience. You will receive advice from the police, bystanders, family, friends and more. If you find yourself in this situation, here is an easy to follow guide, which can help you maintain calm and control, and come out healthy and strong.

1.Stay at the scene of the accident; never leave until you have been released to do so. If you leave, you may risk severe criminal penalties if anyone else was injured or killed. You could be charged with a felony hit and run.

2. Check on All Drivers and Passengers. The first step it to make sure all people involved are OK; if they require medical attention, call 911 immediately. Make sure never to move someone until medical staff arrives, unless some danger requires you to do so.

3.Call the Police. This is an important step if there is property damage, injury, or death. Request that a police report be filed, and take note of the names and badge numbers of officers that are on the scene.

4.Provide your information to the other driver(s) involved, and obtain their information in return. Information should include:

a.Names

b.Addresses

c.Drivers’ license numbers

d.License plate numbers

e.Basic insurance information (company name, phone number and policy, if possible)

5) Keep conversations with others involved to a minimum.

Be respectful and cooperative, but don’t apologize for anything, as you could inadvertently be admitting liability for the incident. Do not state anything which can be considered to be accepting fault for the accident.

6) Approach witnesses.

Try to include details from any witnesses, such as if they’ve seen other accidents in the same place, ask their names and contact information, if they are willing to provide.

7) Call your insurance company.

Notify your company as soon as possible, and communicate with them directly and honestly regarding the accident and your injuries.

8) Request and go over any police report that is filed, to verify the information, what laws were broken, and to determine fault.

9) Keep Track of Your Medical Treatment

Start a file that includes any notes from doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, or other medical professionals that you visit, and each medical provider that referred you to other caregivers. Keep an organized log of treatments or medications you receive.

10) Request copies of all medical reports and bills.

In addition, keep a journal or log of how your injuries are affecting (affected) your day to day life, duties, etc. Be sure to include time off from work, people hired to help complete tasks you generally manage.

11) Take Pictures.

Any photos of property damage are important to take as soon as possible. Before and after pictures of your car will also help your insurance company to figure out how much you should be compensated.

13) Exercise good judgment in talking about the accident

Don’t talk to anyone about the incident besides your legal adviser, insurance company, and the police. Do not talk to someone from the other insurance company, without the knowledge of your attorney or insurer. If called by the other insurance company, be polite, but ask them to call your attorney or insurer to arrange an interview. Make sure to tell your legal adviser or insurer about the call. Do NOT post anything on social media about the accident.

14) Carefully consider Early Settlement Offers

Do not accept the first settlement offer you receive until you verify all your physical injuries have been treated. Often, injuries fully develop or reach their height of severity up to several weeks later. Wait until you know you’ll be compensated for all your injuries and speak with an accident attorney before signing any settlement documents.

Mr Bangalore 2011: Annual District Level Bodybuilding Competition

Mr. Bangalore 2011 competition was held at Kamalanagar, Bangalore on 25th September 2011.

This is an annual district level bodybuilding competition. There are four categories in to compete for Mr. Bangalore Yuva, Yuva shri, Udaya, Kumara and Kesari which is translated into below 20 yrs, above 21 college students, first timers and about 40 respectively. The checkups with respect to age, height and weight were done earlier during the day to ensure that you are placed into the right or division.

There was a bit of anxiety which was lurking around corner, among the first timers. Among this years contestants was Dhiraj Ramakrishna. Dhiraj qualified for the first timers category representing his gymnasium Eminent Multi Gym, Rajajinagar.

For Dhiraj the day started with 2 big bananas early morning and a hardcore weight training and cardio session for about an hour or two. This was the moment that he had been training for the last 5 years. As the day rolled on the strain and the exhaustion was wrought on the contestant’s faces. The day was hot, but with the fellow competitors from my gym all supporting one another, felt like a brother hood going out to win a battle.

Other first timers included Chandrakanth. The weight training starts with a good protein, low fat diet and intense workout schedules with a lot of variations from single body part workouts to 3 body part in a day, along with forearms and abdomen workouts which were compulsory on all days. But nothing beats strain and exhaustion of a competition. The agony and the tension were written all across Chandrakanth’s face.

The power, the will, the strength and the energy to go further is determined by the mind. Pain is just reduced to a word with no meaning. Finally the moment that Dhiraj and Chandrakanth have been waiting for. As their numbers are handed out to them they go through their last set of routines. 150 push ups and 100 squats and they are ready to go.

With bated breath after the routine its time to announce the winners of this year Mr. Bangalore 2011. As the names are called out there is a sense of relief and ease among the participants. Dhiraj and Chandrakanth names are called out among the first timers. The joy is evident on the faces of the winners. For most this has been 5 – 6 years in the making.
